Isaac's bad injury frm the fall

Isaac was fine yesterday and not cranky so i din't bring him to c the pd for a review. But there's a significant swelling on his collarbone and shoulder. He din't move much of his left hand. Last nite, he started to cry while asleep almost every now and then. Decided to take him for an x-ray the next morning. Jason called for urgent leave last nite also. If unapprove, i need to wake up earlier at 7 and bring isaac alone. Only managed to sleep at 3+am due to isaac's cries but funny i auto woke up at 7am. Maybe i'm too worried for isaac. Jason's leave approved and we left home early to c the pd coz it's saturday, sure super packed.


We are no. 1 in the queue and pd advised us to bring isaac for an x-ray. We took mrt to HPB. It's damn hot and quite xin ku to carry isaac under the hot sun as it's quite a distance. We waited 30mins for our turn. Isaac started to cry after i took off his shirt as the room's very cold. He cried harder as the nurse tried to position his hand for the x-ray. She took 3shots. Finally it's over. I quickly put on his shirt. I was so emotional and heartpain to see him cry just now. The x-rays ready within minutes and the nurse commented isaac's bones are okie.


But when we went back to see the pd, he said otherwise. Looking at the x-rays, he said there's a possibility that isaac's hving a hairline crack in the bone. He referred us to a orthopaedic doc at TMC. Like tat, the pd's bill is $120!!! Damnit why so ex with just 3pc of x-ray, saying a few words n referring an orthopaedic?! Sigh....


We took a cab to TMC coz the pd booked the appt for us at 11am which is less than 20mins time. Jason and i hvn't had breakfast yet so i quickly went to get a burger and eat on the way there. The OP, Dr William Verhoeven, very nice doc, told us the same thing tat isaac is having a hairline crack. He suggests to bandage isaac's left hand but we told him isaac hates restrictions and bandaging his left hand will result him to struggle more to attempt to shake off the bandage and worsening the injury. So he said okie to go without the bandage. But we shd try to avoid or cut down his left hand movement. OP bill's $50. I need to bring isaac back next week for another review. It'll take a while for the crack to recover. I hope he can recover fast coz i really can't bring myself to see him go thru another x-ray session, exposing him to another round of radiation.

Fall frm the bed... again

Isaac fell frm the bed again on wed nite.. I really dun want to think back again and relate here who's responsible for failing his duty to look on isaac,, which could hv prevented this accident.

Isaac injured his left ear which ballooned like a pig's ear within seconds and turning black... Jialiat lah... We brought him to the 24hr clinic at tiong bahru and the gp say the ear's swelling will subside within a few days.. It's tat amateur gp again... I got to tell him to check isaac's eardrum then he took out the scope to check ... He gave isaac brufen to reduce isaac's pain.

Yest, isaac woke up and kept crying and whining non-stop.. Then realised his left hand couldn't raise up and cry when we touched his left hand and shoulder. So we brought him to our pd. Pd checked thru his whole upper body for bone fracture and he said so far okie, no dislodge but he said if isaac continue to cry today, must bring him back for xray.

Today, isaac was his usual self with minimal whines and cries so i think it's not a case of cracked bone. Jason bathed him just now and said his shoulder is swelling and isaac will cry when touched his collarbone and shoulder. Think when he fell, also injured his left shoulder as well..

Shock of my life!

Stepping out of the kitchen after finished washing up, the next scene tat appeared before my eyes shocked me!. Isaac had made his way up the sofa and climbed up the window grilles. Grabbing my hp, i quickly took some pic to show jason and then pulled him down and scolding him "No! Cannot climb up!"

Of coz he started to cry lor... and within seconds, he stopped and tried to do that stunt again... Sigh... Realised he only noe how to climb up and duno how to make his way down.. I tried telling him it's very dangerous to climb up but he's just too mischievious, the more i told him "no, cannot climb up", the more he wanted to climb... I'm quite at a loss.. Tat's really very very dangerous... esp if i'm not around, eg if i'm cooking or doing chores... So i taught him how to climb down.. Funny he understand this and able to climb up after the 3rd attempt.

Hair Colour

Wanted to dye my hair same colour as elva's as in her latest album release. Not sure if it'll be too "lian". But colour looks nice and warm and a light shade of brown.. Could make my skin colour yellowish also..

Vivocity - 14 Sept 2008 (Isaac's finally can hold his bottle)

I almost forgot to post this... Isaac finally learn to hold his milk bottle when he's in the stroller.. His progress is slow but it's very comforting to me already.. Sooner or later, i'll be able to shop ard even when it's feeding time hehee....

Vivocity - 14 Sept 2008

Promised jason to go vivocity on sat for the Lantern Lights up thingy but later i saw on tv and realised hv to register or something like tat so told jason to cancel the trip. He's quite disappointed. So we went on the next day sunday...

We reached ard 12noon and starving coz missed breakfast... We settled at Kim Gary Hongkie's restaurant.. Everywhere's crowded on a sunday so is this restaurant.. Luckily we were able to get a table with a fantastic view hehe.. We ordered baked rice set and isaac love the soup and baked rice.. Must try n do it after the reno.. But also must get a toaster 1st coz i'm unsure if i can do it with a normal microwave.



After the meal, we brought to isaac to toyrus (as usual hehe) and we bought him a 2 in 1 Step n Learn Mat. Recently he's so hyperactive, exhausting jason and i and still hv loads of energy left so tot this mat will tires him hehe... Both sides of the mat can be played with music so quite worth the $$ :)



Isaac only got 2pairs of socks and he usually go sock-less. Realised it's time for socks coz his shoes really stinko man! I din't realised baby's shoes can stink sooo much! So bought him 5pairs of socks at mothercare.. Hv to admit the price really justify the product.. The socks really soft.



Then we entered Adidas shop.. Jason been wanting to get a good raincoat cum windbreaker coz his job requires him to stand under the rain ocassionally. Finally, he found wat he wanted but it only comes in red colour and he wanted dark blue.. So he said it's alrite and he'll look ard. We got an adidas ball for isaac. The SA told us that the proceeds of the ball will go to charity. Very good..



We went to Best Denki coz i wanted to get a crimper.. But couldn't find wat i like. Jason got this philips dvd player c/w wall mount instead.

I finally found wat i wanted at watson.. Not bad but not cheap also

Today really spent alot of $$$ sigh

Renovation - Part 3 - Tiles Selection (Again sigh!)

After the quarrel from the previous session of tiles selection, we both agreed we won't go thru that again. "Anything can be discuss" - tat's wat we told each other...

We couldn't agreed on the tiles for the common toilet coz it's really very hard to visualise based on a small piece of sample tile whether tat's the ambience i want for the final effect. It's a long day and we finally confirmed all our tiles for the hse. It wasn't an easy task esp if isaac's ard.. Good thing is he fell asleep in khoo's car while we are on our way to LSH. So we had 30mins to go thru the selection again. But coz i'm carrying isaac so the 30mins is still siong for me...


Our Finalised Tiles:

MBR toilet tiles - The 2 tiles on the left are wall tiles. Both tiles r super rough surface n bottom's one is jason's fav.. Supposed to give an epoxy effect coz of the glitters. On the right is the floor tile, it also has the glittering particles.


Common toilet tiles - It's all becoz of this bathrm tat's causing the unnecessary tiffs.. But i'm glad we found wat we wanted. The front piece is the wall tile which is a running tone tile. The dark piece is for decorative and we found a similar tone as the wall tile for the flooring..


Kitchen tiles - This is an easy one.. We got a white tile with lines design. (the lines are barely sighted unless you scrutinise it) Flooring was a dark brown with glittering particles (again?!) I'm keeping my kitchen nice and clean with minimal design.

Hall & Dining Homo Tiles - This is easy too coz we both love the idea of a nice and fair homo tiles. It will make our hse look super clean and white during daytime with all the light. This tiles comes with an added feature - super index and anti-stain which could reflect light with a superb defined shadow.


Due to budget constraint, i couldn't get myself to do vanity top in the common toilet. Was quoted ard $850 for just a 2ft vanity top.. So i told jason why not get an instant one from those hardware store? We told khoo wat we wanted and he told us tat be prepared coz the material is definitely inferior. We found this in Hoe Kee and it cost only $260! Big basin with cabinet, tat's good enuff... even if it only lasted 3-5yrs hee..


I also realised tat Hoe Kee's stuff is cheaper than Asia excel's. We found this Krisroz rainshower with mixer and handheld shower for $368! We couldn't find it at Ho Kee IMM tat day. This is wat we wanted initially coz i had kept the newspaper cutting when it was advertised. This $368 Krisroz shower is being compared as an alternative option to a $8486 Hansgrohe raindance rainmaker shower. We told khoo to arrange to cancel the previous shower which we bought at $569 (yes tat's the bloody expensive one tat i mentioned in the previous post) Hmm.. seems like not all the shops the id brought you to is the best one huh... Probably he earns a commission for bringing us there ba...


Next tuesday, tat's jason's next rest day, we'll be choosing the laminates and we can finally prepare to commence our reno process..

Renovation Part 2 - Sanitaryware Story

Meet up with khoo on Monday to check out the 3D drawings and purchase sanitaryware.

I wasn't going to expect amazing drawings coz i told khoo it's the end product ie the worksmanship tat i'm concerned with. No point giving me fantastic drawings which doesn't look like the real thing. Not all drawings are ready yet. We decided to make another appt to re-choose the common toilet tiles coz the tiles tat i choose doesn't give me the ambience i want.

Living room (this is going to change coz we both dun like it. Khoo used this coz he said our theme is resort style so the feature wall is backed with timber strips and a white laminate with baroque mortifs)


We'll be changing our kitchen design to accomodate to fengshui practice. Our main door is facing the kitchen windows directly as we entered the house. Jason said this is bad in terms of fengshui coz all the wealth and good luck will come in the hse and go out from the window. So we'll be fixing a tampered glass to block this direct view of the windows (pic 2) and add in 2-3ft cabinet w solid worktop. I'm unsure if it'll make my already small kitchen smaller.

We went to Asia Excel to purchase our sanitaryware. Total damage : $1689. I still can't believe i actually paid $569 for a blo*dy rainshower! This is wat we bought:

Pic 1-3. Khoo suggested using pic 2 for our MBR basin coz our vanity top is ard 5ft and the bigger basin would be more proportion. We'll measure and get back to him.

(PIC 7-9)Very good deal for this hand shower set at $98. We'll be changing the shower head from the round one to a squarish head. I felt it's more stylish and easier to hold.


PIC 10 Priscillia said this is considered a branded sink but i told her i'm looking for a more lasting sink. Anyway, it's considered cheap for a "branded"sink and comes with a good tap (khoo said this tap would easily cost $200+) so we bought this as well. We told priscillia we'd like the smaller sink to be on the right hand side.



After a discussion, jason and i felt that we dun need a hood so we'll be just getting a hob. These 2 hobs are from Rinnai (not cheap) and we'll be getting the 2cooker one instead coz the other one is too big for the kitchen (sigh.. my kitchen is small) Any bigger, it'll either cut into the space nearing the sink or the other side which would face the toilet. Again, fengshui thingy... if yr stove is facing the toilet bowl, that's bad also..


That's priscillia hehe.. Isaac's been very very cranky on tat day.. All 3 of us can't outdo his hyperactive energy...


Finally reached home... It's been a long day... Isaac super exhausted and he's sleeping while i'm taking pics.... He sure is tired coz he din't nap thruout the whole afternoon.. hehe
